07 Jul Sunshine, Demand and a Fantastic Community Spirit at Towerburn View Open Day
New build development Towerburn View welcomed visitors from across Northumberland and beyond this weekend as Wynyard Homes hosted a hugely successful Open Day in the heart of Shilbottle.

With sunshine from start to finish, prospective buyers spent the day exploring the development, touring a range of available new build homes and discovering why so many people are choosing to call this charming Northumberland village home.
The event generated significant interest, with Plot 28 (The Breamish) reserved on the day, Plot 21 (The Coquet) qualified to reserve, Plot 18 (The Tweed) is due to be reserved the following day, and Plot 13 (The Beldon) is legally completing in the coming days, continuing what has been an exceptionally busy period for the development.

Separately, first time buyers Travis and Abbi are set to legally complete on Plot 26 (The Beldon) in early July, with another customer set to take ownership of her home (The Breamish) in early July, having been born and raised in the village.
A Busy Day for Buyers
Visitors had the opportunity to view a selection of beautifully designed homes, including The Tweed, The Rede, The Breamish and The Beldon, while learning more about the incentives currently available across selected plots.

Independent mortgage specialist Mark Finch from Mortgage Pathways was also on hand throughout the day, offering free mortgage advice and helping new buyers understand what could be possible. From first-time buyers taking their first steps onto the property ladder to families planning their move to Northumberland, the opportunity to receive expert financial guidance alongside viewing the homes proved hugely popular.

More Than Just Beautiful New Build Homes in Northumberland
One of the strongest themes throughout the day was that buyers weren’t simply choosing a house – they were choosing a community.
Towerburn View has become increasingly popular with families, downsizers and people returning to Northumberland after years away, drawn by the village atmosphere, beautiful coastline and outstanding quality of life.
Sharon Bishop, Sales Representative at Towerburn View, said:
“What makes Towerburn View so special is the sense of community. With just 54 new build homes on the development, it has a real neighbourhood feel and people quickly become part of village life.”
She continued:
“We’re welcoming a wonderful mix of buyers. Some are families who grew up in Shilbottle and want to stay close to their roots. Others have moved away and are now returning to raise their own families here. We’re also seeing people downsizing who simply want to enjoy everything Northumberland has to offer.”
Local Voices Reinforce the Appeal
Adding an extra touch to the day was a visit from local hairdresser Jenny Story, owner of Jazz Hair Salon in Shilbottle, who spoke passionately about life in the village.
Having lived in Shilbottle for many years, Jenny explained why so many people choose to stay.
“It’s such a close-knit community. Everybody knows everybody, and there’s a lovely village atmosphere. You’re surrounded by countryside, yet within two minutes you’re on the A1 and only a few minutes from some of the most beautiful beaches in Northumberland.”
She also reflected on the number of new residents she now welcomes into her salon.
“Meeting people who’ve moved here from other parts of the country really makes you appreciate what we have on our doorstep. They talk about the scenery, the beaches and the slower pace of life, and it reminds you just how special this area really is.”
Expert Support Throughout the Buying Journey
Throughout the Open Day, buyers also had the opportunity to speak with Mark Finch from Mortgage Pathways, Wynyard Homes’ long-standing mortgage partner.
Mark said:
“Buying a new home starts with understanding what’s possible. Having those conversations early helps buyers make informed decisions and often gives them more confidence than they expected. It was fantastic to meet so many people looking to make Northumberland their home.”
Demand Continues to Build
The activity during the Open Day reflects the continued demand for high-quality homes in Shilbottle and the wider Alnwick area.
Situated just two miles from Alnwick, four miles from Alnmouth Beach and with excellent access to the A1 and Alnmouth Railway Station, Towerburn View continues to attract buyers seeking the perfect balance of coast, countryside and connectivity.

For many visitors, however, it was the village itself that left the biggest impression.
One buyer reserving Plot 18 explained they simply “didn’t want to miss the opportunity to live in such a charming village” – a sentiment echoed by many throughout the day.
As reservations continue and more families become part of the growing community, Towerburn View is proving that it’s about much more than building new homes.
It’s about helping people find somewhere they genuinely want to belong.
